It is with huge sadness that we, Rakesh’s family and friends wish to inform you that he passed away on Tuesday March 6, 2018 at 2.00am at Dunedin Hospital after suffering for some time with a rare lung condition.

Beloved father and uncle of Kamal and Draven. Dear friend to Simone and Steev Peyroux and family, Lianna MacFarlane and family, Graham Phipps-Black and many, many others. Beloved brother of Ashoka and Veena.
A beautiful big personality, Rakesh helped hundreds of students and their families, his work in Dunedin is irreplaceable. His humor and charismatic personality will leave a huge gap in many people’s lives.

His funeral will be held in the Dunedin Crematorium Chapel, 192 Tomahawk Road, at 2.30pm on Friday, March 9.
