On August 3, 2014, peacefully at home; aged 86 years.

Dearly loved husband for 60 years of Jean, much loved Dad and father-in-law of Neil and Kim, Ann and Don, Mark and Diana, David and Rebecca, loving Grandad of Andrew, Karl, and Brendan; Steven, Christopher, and Genevieve; Thomas, Matthew, Jessica, and Joshua; Rebecca, and Cameron, and friend of Piper.

A service for Alex will be held in Hope and Sons Chapel, corner Andersons Bay Road and Oxford Street, at 10.00am on Saturday, August 9, followed by private cremation. Family and friends are then invited to HMNZS Toroa (Senior Rates Mess - access off Bow Lane), to celebrate Alex's life.
