FERGUSON, Winsome Ruth (Salvation Army Major - Rtd)

After a courageous battle with illness, Winsome passed away peacefully at Mossbrae Hospital on Sunday, 13 March, 2016; in her 83rd year.

Loved daughter of the late Robert and Ruth, she is also fondly remembered by all those she served during her lifetime as a Missionary Nurse in Indonesia, Ghana and Kenya, by her family – Beth and the late Phil Calder, Keith and the late Gwen, Marigold and Terence Stanton, Michael and Pauline, David and Irene, the late (infant) Denise, Carole and Greg Leslie and her many Nieces and Nephews.

At home now with the Lord she loved and served.

A service to celebrate Winsome’s life will be held in the Salvation Army Hall, 4 Lanark Street, Mosgiel at 2.00pm on Wednesday, 16 March followed by private cremation.

In lieu of flowers, donations to The Salvation Army’s Cherish-A-Child fund can be left at the service. Messages to 1 Glengarry Court, Mosgiel 9024.

Lived most of her life helping others, now at peace.  Much loved special Aunty of Vivienne Stanton.

“You captivated me as a child and inspired me as an adult.”

Finally reunited with Peg-a-leg.   R.I.P.
