WRIGHT, Mike (Chaplain)

On July 26, 2017, suddenly at Auckland Hospital; aged 57 years.

Mike, forever loved and best friend of Sheryl. Awesome Dad of Emma, Brittany and Jamie, and Taylor. Loved son of the late Audrey and Reg, brother and brother-in-law of Lyn and Chris, Dave and Gill, Sue, Ann and Michael and loved uncle of his nieces and nephews.

A service for Mike will be held in Hope and Sons Chapel corner Andersons Bay Road and Oxford Street at 2pm on Wednesday August 2, followed by private cremation.

A combined University and Polytechnic memorial service will be held at 2.30pm on Wednesday August 16 at University of Otago College of Education Auditorium, 145 Union Street East.

Much loved and respected son-in-law of Robin and Nola Myles. Loved brother-in-law of Craig and Robyn Myles, Stu Myles and Lisa Goodman, Blair and Libby Myles. Cherished and respected uncle of Matt and Paisley, Mandy and Jason, Tom, Korbin, and Reid.

Staff and students of Otago Polytechnic are deeply saddened at the passing of  our Chaplain, Mike.  He was a much loved member of the Otago Polytechnic whânau and touched the lives of many of us.

Our thoughts and condolences are with Mike's wife Sheryl, and three children; Brittany, Emma and Taylor.

Mike taught us much about the true meaning of "loitering with intent" and we will miss his steadying and caring influence immensely.
