MARSHALL, Alexander Earl, (Earl), (Pte 1st Btn ‘C’ Coy 1 NZ Reg), on April 24, 2020; aged 82 years.

After a long, miraculous and brave battle with cancer, our lovely husband and Dad passed peacefully only hours after arriving at the Otago Community Hospice where he was welcomed and made comfortable by the incredible team who made it possible for Nic to be by his side holding his hand. Beloved husband for nearly 54 years of Heather, much loved Dad of Nicki (Nic), and Tina, loved twin brother of the late Deanne McMahon, loved brother-in-law of Merri and Bob Maxwell.

Many thanks to our fabulous neighbours and friends, St John Ambulance for their support throughout Earl’s illness, and special mention to the District Nurses, Christina, Sue, and Dr McKay from the Otago Community Hospice, and Dr Daniel Then for supporting us and making it possible to keep Earl at home on the farm right up until his last few hours, we will be forever grateful to you all.
