Dearly loved husband of Susan. Loved Dad and father-in-law of Peter & Sarah, Jeff & Gina, Kirsty & Dave Gilbert. Much loved Poppa of Libby, Margot, and Hamish Brown; Hannah, and Aaron Brown; and Jacob Gilbert.

A service for John will be held in Hope and Sons Chapel corner Andersons Bay Road and Oxford Street at 11;30am on Saturday December 15, followed by private cremation.

A 'get together' will follow from 3pm onwards at the Waikouaiti RSA.
