On April 1, 2008, peacefully at Ross Home, Dunedin; aged 91 years.

Dearly loved wife of the late Doug Shirley, dearly loved mother and mother-in-law of Geoff Shirley and Carolyn Terpstra (Queenstown), Dr Phil Silva and Anne Wilkinson (Nelson), the late Dr Michael Silva and Margaret (Sydney); Loved Nana of Bruno and Ella; Nikki and Patrick, Jeremy and Deb, Penny, Tim and Rachael, the late Nathan; Jim, Francesca, and the late Ned, and loved great Nana of Hugh, Thomas, and Lucy; Emma, Abby, Pru, and Katy; Tom, Harry, and Anabelle; and a loved aunt of all her nieces and nephews.

A service for Ella will be held in Maori Hill Presbyterian Church, 580 Highgate, at 2pm on Monday April 7, followed by private cremation.
