Loved husband of the late Jessie. Loved father and father-in-law of Anne and Ewen Abernethy (Auckland), Murray and Ann Patterson (Melbourne), Ruth and Eric Jack (Tauranga), Mary and Wayne Goodwin (Nelson/Dunedin), Helen and John Kerse (Gore) and loved Grandad of his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Also loved brother and brother-in-law of the late Joyce Patterson, Florence and Keith Williamson, Peter and Isabel Patterson (all of Dunedin), Donald and the late Elizabeth Patterson (Te Awamutu).

A Celebration Service of Remembrance for the life of Ashley will be held in Hope & Sons Chapel, corner Andersons Bay Road and Oxford Street, Dunedin, at 11.00 am, on Friday October 17, followed by private burial.
