Peacefully on January 7, 2009 at Ross Home, Dunedin, aged 98 years.

Loved wife of the late Howard, mother of the late Dorothy Steel and Beverley McKewen. Also loved mother-in-law of Ted & Maureen McKewen and Graeme & Liz Steel. Much loved nana of Debbie Smith, Robyn Steel, Steph and Richard Findley, Rebecca and Glen Thompson, Fiona and Hamish. Also very loving Grandma to Sarah and Daniel Birch, Rachel and Martin Clark and David and Donna. Special great-grandma to George, Phoebe, Angus, Maddi, Bella, James, Samual, Mathew, Jack, Mea, Nelle, Meg and Nicholas. Sister of the late Colin and Billie Meldrum, sister-in-law of the late Ray and Muriel Pannett, the late Joyce and Ewan Blyth and the late Elsie and Vic Percy.

A service to celebrate Doris's life will be held in the Balmoral Church, Essex Street, North Balclutha at 10:30am on Saturday January 10, followed by burial in the Balclutha Cemetery.
