On January 2, 2010 peacefully at Dunedin Hospital surrounded by family; in his 93rd year.

Dearly loved husband of the late Peg, loved father and father-in-law of Peter and Prue, David and Trish, Sue and Roger, loved Poppa of Campbell, and Sophie; Amelia and Jonathan; Simon, and Sarah, loved brother and brother-in-law of Ngaire and Keith Sare and the late Gerald.

A service for Val will be held in St John's Anglican Church, Highgate at 11.00am on Thursday January 7, followed by private cremation.

In lieu of flowers donations to the Neurological Foundation of NZ would be appreciated and may be left at the service.
