Dearly loved husband of Elinor, much loved father of Rachel (Auckland), and Serena (Kyrgyzstan), loved Puppup of Zachary. Loved brother of Christine (Mt Vernon, USA), loved brother-in-law of Fergus and Chris, and Ewan and Malcolm, loved uncle of all his nephews and nieces, and friend of Rene.

Special thanks to the staff of 4A at Dunedin Hospital.

A service for John will be held in Hope and Sons Chapel, cnr of Andersons Bay Rd and Oxford St, at 2.00pm on Tuesday May 25, followed by private cremation.
