Peacefully in his sleep at St Andrews Rest Home, Dunedin on March 11, 2011; aged 82 years.

Dearly loved husband of Ngaio, much loved father and father-in-law of Allan and Pam, Neil and Linda, Steve and Judi, Ali and John Elder, cherished grandpa of Karina and Brendan, Tony and Emily, Nicole; Alister, Katrina, Jarrad and Kelvin; Kristin and Anar, Bianca; Kylie, Shane, Ricky; and great grandpa of Grace.

A service for Mawson will be held in Hope and Sons Chapel, corner Andersons Bay Road and Oxford Street, Dunedin at 2pm on Thursday March 17, followed by private cremation.

In lieu of flowers donations to the SPCA would be appreciated and may be left at the service.
