On August 13, 2013, unexpectedly and peacefully at Dunedin Hospital, in his 87th year.

Dearly loved husband for 64 years of Esme (Billie), dearly loved and devoted Dad of Pam and Andy (Pemberton, W.A.), Lindsay and Judy (Bendigo), Barbara (Blenheim), and Sandie and Jim (Mackay, Qld), much loved Grandad of Rose (Pemberton); Kirsten and Mike (Christchurch), Fraser and Sanja (Wellington), Blair and Fliss (Wellington); Chelsea and Paul (Hamilton), Elliot and Sam (Christchurch); Louis, and Eddie (Mackay), and great-Grandad to Tasha, and James.

A service for Eric will be held in Hope and Sons Chapel, corner Andersons Bay Road and Oxford Street, Dunedin at 4:00 p.m. on Friday, August 16 followed by private cremation.
