On July 11, 2014, peacefully at Ross Home; aged 90 years.

Dearly loved husband of the late Eileen, and of the late Janet. Beloved father, father-in-law and grandfather of Jane, James, and Samuel; Caroline and Paul; the late Peter, and Diana; Tim, Vanessa, Ben, Isla, and Marina; Susan, David, Gracie, Cecily, and Daniel; Clare, Dave, and Brooke. Loved brother of Dick and his other eleven siblings now deceased.

Loved uncle of his many nieces and nephews. Great friend of his many in-laws, out-laws, tramping, track clearing and Masonic Lodge companions. Thank you to the staff of Craig Unit, and Ross Home, and to Dr Bulow, for their love and care of Rex over the past seven years.

A service to celebrate Rex's life will be held in Hope and Sons Chapel, corner Andersons Bay Road and Oxford Street at 3pm on Wednesday July 16, followed by private cremation. In lieu of flowers donations to Save the Children NZ would be appreciated and may be left at the service.
