On September 8, 2014, peacefully at Dunedin Hospital, in his 90th year. Dearly loved husband of Beryl, much loved brother of Joan and Phyllis, treasured and much loved father of Annie and Gavin, loved and respected father-in-law of Andrew and Eileen, much loved grandfather of Kirsty, Cathy, Angie, and Jacqui; Kerry, and Gareth, proud great-grandfather of Archie, Baxter, Jake, Libby, and Freddy; and Zoe and Jaime. Alan’s family express their grateful thanks to the staff at Leslie Groves Rest Home and the teams on Wards 3B and 7B, Dunedin Hospital for their compassionate care.

A service for Alan will be held at St John’s Anglican Church, Roslyn, corner Wright Street and Highgate at 12.30pm on Friday September 19, followed by private cremation. In lieu of flowers donations to the Order of St John would be appreciated and may be left at the service. Messages to 13 Cairnhill Street, Maori Hill, Dunedin 9010.
