Passed away peacefully on December 10, 2015 surrounded by his family.

Dearly loved and devoted husband to Kay, wonderful father and father-in-law to Alison and Craig Palmer, Nicola and Ben Wood, Derek and Jenna and Maxine. Doting Grandad to Lucas Palmer. Treasured third son of the late Norman and Niké Shanks and son-in-law and friend of Watson and Madelene Barkman. Captain brother and brother-in-law to Brian and Sally, Murray and Pat, Donald and Moira, Jean and the late Brian Steel, Linda and Ian Landreth and Ruth and Rob Beulink. Lovingly opinionated uncle to all his nieces and nephews.

A service for Roy will be held in Hope and Sons Chapel, corner Andersons Bay Road and Oxford Street at 11am on Wednesday December 16, followed by private cremation.
