It is with love and great sadness we announce the sudden death of Sam on Sunday, July 9, 2017.

Only child of Rosanna and Samuel McTear (Belfast, Northern Ireland). Dearly cherished and loving husband of Margaret for 51 years, loving and proud Dad of Leanne, and Jeremy and daughter-in-law Tina. Three wonderful grandsons: Oliver, Jamie, and Leon, his pride and joy. Also loved brother-in-law of Gabrielle and the late John Dunne; Barry and Ann Rooney; and special uncle to Philippa, Gregory, Christopher, John Shane, Nigel, and Anton.

Sam’s family are very grateful to the staff of Marne Street Hospital for their dedicated care and support. R.I.P


Requiem Mass will be celebrated in St Patrick’s Basilica, Macandrew Road, at 1.30pm on Thursday, July 13, followed by private cremation.
