LOWE, Stephen (Steve)

Unexpectedly but peacefully, where he wanted to be, our beloved Steve has passed away.

Steve is the love of her life, husband, best friend, soulmate, playmate, IT support, counsellor and confidante, fierce supporter and mentor of Liz for nearly 20 years.

Steve was a very dearly loved Dad to Brendon, and Scott, loved father-in-law to Becky and much adored Grandad Steve of Kaitlyn and George.

Steve was also greatly loved by Ryker. Steve’s beloved cat Otis and the other fur babies Woodi, China, Cry and KittyKat are distraught without their playmate, cuddle partner, automatic food dispenser and personal trainer.

Steve lived a good life bringing joy to many people in many ways including 12 years as the man in the red suit at Harvey Norman, former NZ rep in duathlon, Wheel of Fortune winner, Jaycee member, debater, wood worker, teacher, volunteer, massive sci-fi fan, IT expert, movie buff and someone who knew every weird and wonderful fact of the world.

Steve enriched all our lives and we will miss him greatly. “I am at peace….try to believe It was my time…. I had to leave.”

Steve will be resting at home on Saturday and Sunday and friends are welcome to call and spend time with Steve and the family.

A service for Steve will be held in the East Taieri Church, Cemetery Road, Mosgiel at 1:30pm on Wednesday October 4.

In lieu of flowers please be generous with donations to the amazing people of the Catlins Search and Rescue who helped bring Steve home.

Messages to DX Box YX15033, Dunedin 9012.or in Steve’s tribute book above.
