On March 5, 2018, suddenly after a long illness; in her 81st year.

Best friend and much loved wife for 63 years of Johnny (Alister Mervin), much loved Mum, mother, and mother-in-law of Dixie Elliott, Sharleen Johnston and John Gill, Nicki and Bill Gilmore, much much loved Nana of Sam, and Laura Elliott; Elliot, and Gabby Gill; Alexandra, Sophie, and Jack Gilmore, and much loved daughter of Roy^ and Christina^ Congalton. Loved sister and sister-in-law of June and Ken^ Greig, Betty^ and Merv^ Daniels, Doris^ and Maurice^ Payne, Florence Jean and Jim Gillan, much loved sister-in-law of Bev Johnston^, Dawn and Rod^ Beattie, Cecil and Shirley^ Hurring, Shona Saxon, Gaynor and Owen^ Collity, Nylda and Norman Meads, much loved aunt of all her nieces and nephews.

Special thanks to Dr Elaine Harvey and staff at the Mornington Health Centre, Ben Brockway, Dr Shelley Collings, and all the respiratory team, and staff of Ward 7 and 8 at Dunedin Hospital.

A service for Peggy will be held in Hope and Sons Chapel, corner Andersons Bay Road and Oxford Street at 12.30pm on Saturday March 10, followed by private cremation.

In lieu of flowers donations to St John Ambulance would be appreciated and may be left at the service.
