DIREEN, Maria Janet (Marie), formerly of Waimate

On July 29, 2019, peacefully at Sacred Heart Home and Hospital, Dunedin; aged 88 years.


Loved wife of the late Tony, loved Mother and Mother-in-law of Max and Kaye, Jan and Peter, Barry and Judith, Bruce, Derek and Jo, Denis and Kerri, Lauren and the late Ken. Adored Nana of her many Grandchildren, Great-Grandchildren, and Great-Great-Grandchildren.

Heartfelt thanks to the staff of Sacred Heart Home and Hospital and Leslie Groves Rest Home for the special care shown to Marie during her time there.

A service to celebrate Marie’s life will be held in St Josephs Catholic Church, 295 Brockville Road, Dunedin, at 2.00pm on Friday August 2, followed by private cremation. In lieu of flowers, donations to Sacred Heart Home and Hospital would be appreciated and may left at the service.
