DAVIE, Louise (Elizabeth Louise, née Scorgie)

After an inspirational and dogged two-and-a-half-year joust with pancreatic cancer, Louise died peacefully at home on December 28; aged just 66.

Adored wife of Steve and very much loved mother of Nevin, Tom, and Belinda. Loved daughter and daughter-in-law of Betty and the late Archie Scorgie, and the late Ken and Heather Davie. Loved sister and sister-in-law of Jim and Michiko Scorgie, Don Scorgie and Shelley Malcolm, Jan and Peter Milford, and Lauren and Rob Somerville. A loved cousin, aunt and great-aunt, admired and respected former colleague at the DPH gastroenterology unit and a great friend to many.

For their empathy and genuine care of Louise we thank Dr Chris Jackson and his oncology team, the wonderful nurses in 8C at Dunedin Hospital, Anna and the nurses at Toroa, the district nursing and OT staff, and Robyn and Suny from the Otago Community Hospice.

To us, Louise was so very special and we are bereft. Her smile, often wicked sense of humour and her gentleness were a constant presence, and we will miss her immeasurably.
She made our lives and the lives of all those who met her just so much better.

At Louise’s request, she will be privately cremated and a memorial service to celebrate her life will be held in Hope and Sons Chapel, 523 Andersons Bay Road at 11a.m. on Saturday, January 14.

Messages to 53 Moodie St, Shiel Hill, Dunedin 9013, email to thedaviefamily@xtra.co.nz, or leave a message on Louise’s tribute page above where you can also access a link to livestream the service.
