On May 14, 2023, at St Andrew’s Home And Hospital, aged 96 years.

It is with great sadness that we advise our beloved mother passed away peacefully and with dignity with her family by her side.

Dearly loved and cherished by her children Lyn and Mike Gray, Neil Whitford and Louise Van De Voort, and Sue and John Wards. Treasured and loved Nana to Sara Elliott, Gareth Elliott and Becs Fisher, Diane and Shane Williams, Tracy Whitford and Chris Moore, Nigel Roberts and Rebecca Ter Borg, James Roberts, Daniel Roberts and Millie Leckie. Loved Great-nana to Jack Moore and Owen and Sylvie Roberts, and soon to be born Zalia Elliott. Dear friend to Justine and Warren. Loved eldest daughter of Harold^ and Bertha^ Welsford, dearly loved sister and sister-in-law to Norma and Clive^ Shaw, Alan^ and Winnie^ Welsford, Betty and Stan^ Smith, and Bruce and Julie Welsford. Loved Aunty to all of her nieces and nephews.  (^denotes deceased).

We would like to thank Redroofs and St Andrews Rest Homes for their wonderful loving care of Shirley over the last 4 years.

A service to celebrate Shirley’s life will be held in Hope and Sons Chapel, 523 Andersons Bay Road, Dunedin at 11:00am on Thursday May 18, followed by private cremation.
