On July 22, 2023, peacefully in his sleep at Ngaio Marsh Retirement Village, Christchurch; in his 104th year.

Dearly loved and loving husband of the late Rae (nee Caddie), dearly loved father of Ann and Rosalind, much loved father-in-law of Jan, and the late David, beloved Grandpa of Katia (London).

Our grateful thanks to the support workers of the Royal District Nursing Service, Dunedin for their outstanding care of Gordon at his home over the past few years, and to the nurses and care staff at Ngaio Marsh Retirement Village who supported Gordon with such kindness and thoughtfulness during the last months of his life. Deeply missed.

A service will be held in St Paul’s Cathedral, The Octagon, at 11.00am on Saturday, July 29, followed by private cremation.
