Passed away at Tupua Tamasese Meaole Hospital in Motootua, Samoa, on Wednesday, November 29, 2023; at the age of 77 years.

Beloved husband of Seloa and devoted father of Monaecious and Clem Nafatali, Elizabeth and the late Roger Vaitupu, Morinda and Matt Weychardt, Charlene and Louise Vaitupu, Nineva Vaitupu and Gemma Tuhega, Judith and Ralph Popplewell, Reece Vaitupu and Grace Patu, beloved brother of Ila, Toleafoa, Mapusaga, Migao, To’o, the late Li'a, the late Vailima, the late Afoa, and the late Va’a. A fun and CHEEKY Papa to Tiara, Ryan, Tylah, Joshua, Kaizer, Harrison, Mila, Emma, Orlando, Jeremiah, and Phoenix. Loved by his aunties, uncles, nephews, nieces, cousins, and families in New Zealand, Samoa, and overseas.

There will be a family service at 5pm, on Monday, December 11, and his final funeral service will be held in First Church of Otago, 411 Moray Place, Dunedin, at 1:00pm, on Wednesday, December 13, followed by his burial at Dunedin Cemetery.
