On November 27, 2007 at the Otago Community Hospice after a courageous battle.

Much loved partner and best friend of Donna, loved son of Gwen and the late Harry Grimsey, loved brother of Corinne, and Lesley. Dearly loved by Mahara and the late Ian Fraser, Janice, Judy, Gordon, Susan, Peter, Jennifer and their families.

A service for John will be held in Hope and Sons Chapel corner Andersons Bay Road and Oxford Street at 1.00pm on Monday December 3, followed by burial at the Andersons Bay Cemetery.
