On December 17, 2008, after a long illness, at Dunedin Hospital, aged 79 years.

Loved son of the late Kenneth and Else Richdale, loved brother and brother-in-law of Gordon (deceased) and Betty (Christchurch), and Allison, a loved uncle of Anne Cornish, Ross, and Eion, and a loved great-uncle and great-great-uncle.

A service will be held in the Dunedin South Presbyterian Church, Queens Drive, Musselburgh, Dunedin, at 11:00 a.m. on Monday December 22 followed by private cremation.
