McConnell, Margaret Eleanor (nee Barker)

On January 8, 2009 peacefully in the loving care of the Otago Community Hospice, and with all her family around her, after an 8 month struggle with cancer.

Dearly loved wife of Lou, loved and loving mother and mother-in-law of Nathan and Tanja (Switzerland), Justine and Chris (Perth), Quinn and Paulene (Townsville) and Bart and Gaynor (Dunedin), loved grandma of Jaz and Miller (Perth), and Matthias and his soon to be sister (Switzerland).

R.I.P

A dedicated and compassionate professional, cruelly struck down in the twilight of her career.

Man At The Gate
I said to the man
Who stood at the gate of the year,
"Give me a light that I may tread safely into the unknown."
And he replied,
"Go out into the darkness and put your hand into the hand of God, that shall be to you better than the light and safe than a known way!"

A service for Margaret will be held in Hope and Sons Chapel corner Andersons Bay Road and Oxford Street, at 2pm on Tuesday January 13 followed by private cremation.

In lieu of flowers donations to the Otago Community Hospice would be appreciated and may be left at the service.

On Thursday 8th January 2009 at the Otago Community Hospice, dearly loved sister and sister-in-law of Alan and Lynley Barker (Alexandra), Barbara and Herb Ritchie (Mount Maunganui), Noelene and Wayne Moore (Brisbane), and loved Aunt and Great-Aunt of all her nephews and nieces.

"You were an inspiration to us all and will remain in our hearts forever."
