Passed away peacefully and with dignity at Dunedin Hospital on Sunday July 19, 2009; in his 92nd year.

Resident of Elmslie House and previously of Dunedin.

Much loved father and father-in-law of Ngaire & John Alldred, and Alison Geursen, and greatly loved Pop of his grandchildren Nick, Piet and Sam. Much loved brother of the late George and John, also Olive, Margaret and Dave and great mate of Michael Preston at Elmslie House.

Arthur was a former blacksmith, soldier, carpenter, milko, chorister, fisherman, bowler and lover of humour. Grateful thanks to all staff at Elmslie House for their care and devotion over the last eight years.

A private cremation is to be held, followed by a family celebration of Arthur's long and eventful life that will be held at a later date.
