Died peacefully at Dunedin Hospital on January 24, 2010; aged 90 years.

Loved daughter of the late Daisy and John Begg (Pukeawa), loved sister and friend of the late Nan Turner, Kath Hayward, Alyth Mullin, Florence Ball, Margaret Bowie, and John Begg, loved step-sister of Audrey Jenkins and Cyril Middleton. Much loved auntie of all her nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews.

A service to celebrate Ethel's life will be held in Hope and Sons Chapel corner Andersons Bay Road and Oxford Street at 11am on Wednesday January 27, followed by private cremation.
