Dearly loved husband of the late Hazel, much loved father and father-in-law of Brian and June (Milton), Joy and Bruce Malthus (Palmerston North), Ray and Allison (Wellington) and a loved grandfather of all his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

A private service for Gilbert will be held in Milton.
