On August 15, 2012, peacefully, with his family, at Dunedin Hospital, in his 82nd year.

Dearly loved husband, father, grandfather, and friend of Kathy; Derek and Janet; Martin and Eleanor, Dominic and Caleb; Niki and Richard van Plateringen, Hannah, Willem, and Josef.

A service will be held in the John McGlashan College Chapel, Pilkington Street, Maori Hill, Dunedin, at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 18 followed by private cremation.

In lieu of flowers donations for the John McGlashan College gymnasium fund would be appreciated and may be left at the service.
