Dearly loved husband of Lorene for nearly 60 years, and the late Mollie. Loved Dad, father-in-law and friend of Stu and Kaye, Russell and June, Malcolm and Josephine, Allan and Jean (Christchurch).

Loved Grandad of Allison and Graeme, Melanie, Merv and Ahna; Denise and Dave, Rachel and Dale; Kate and Adam, Colin and Aimee; Craig, and Grant. Much loved Grandad Aitken of his 12 great-grandchildren and his new great,great-grandaughter.

A service to celebrate Merv's life will be held in Hope and Sons Chapel, corner Andersons Bay Road and Oxford Street, Dunedin at 2:30pm on Thursday October 18, followed by private cremation.
