On July 2, 2013, at Dunedin Hospital surrounded by his loving family; in his 81st year. Dearly loved husband of Christine. Much loved father of James and Shirlwyn (Australia), Ken and Christine (Cromwell), Glenda Bernhardt (Roxburgh), Steve and Sylvia (USA), Jules and Hamish Mackenzie. 'Irreplaceable' Grandad to Melanie and Peter, Liz and Aaron; Nicole and Patrick, Mark; Belinda and Mat, Dan, Kirsten and Hayden; David, Matthew and Tessa; Jessie and Brendon, the late Morgan, Zandria and Terry; Great-Grandad to the late Caitlin, Isabella, Francesca; the late James, Desiree, Caleb; Liam; Ava.

A service for Alex will be held in the Caversham Baptist Church corner South Road and Surrey Street at 1pm on Monday July 8, the funeral then leaving for the Green Park Cemetery.
