Peacefully passed on August 6, 2013 at Dunedin Hospital, with Margy at his side; in his 98th year.

Cherished husband of Margaret for 67 years , deeply loved father and father-in-law of Anne (deceased), and Dorothy (deceased), John and Esther, and Margy-Jean. Wonderful Grandfather of Grant and Michelle, Ewan and Marion; Alicia and Steve, Ezra and Natalie; Andrew and Mana, and Lucy. Loved Great Grandpa of Kingston, and Mia, and loved friend of the Cairnhill Street Community.

Special thanks to Abbeyfield, Thornbury House and Dunedin Hospital staff for their magnificent compassionate care during the last stages of Donald's life.

Donald will be at Margy's home from Friday. Friends are welcome to visit and pay their respects.

A service of Thanksgiving for Donald's life will be held in Knox Church, George Street at 11.00am on Monday August 12, followed by private cremation.

In lieu of flowers donations for the Neo-Natal Intensive Care Unit Trust, Dunedin Hospital would be appreciated and may be left at the service.
