MUDIE, Alison Mary
On February 17, 2014, sadly taken at age 68 years, at the Otago Community Hospice after a short but courageous battle with Cancer.
Dearly loved wife of John and treasured mother and mother-in-law of Simon (deceased) and Rebecca, Jason, Jemma and Karlos. Much loved Grandma to Alannah, Mya, Ella, Ethan, Jackson and Iszac and Great Grandma to Kobi and Khai.
"If today should be the day that I breathe my final breath, don't cry for me. When my race on earth is run and they lay me down to rest, don't cry for me. 'Cause a long long time ago, I chose Heaven as my goal, I let Jesus in my soul to set me free. So when it's all been said and done, I'll be living with God's Son, don't cry for me. Don't cry for me, I'm in a better place. Don't cry for me, I can see Jesus' face. My time has come but I'm not alone, I'm going home, don't cry for me".
Mum, we are crying - but not for you, because we know you are in God's Kingdom. We are crying for ourselves and for your grandchildren as we miss you desperately already.
A huge thank you goes out to everyone involved with Alison's treatment during her journey and especially the special staff at the Otago Community Hospice for making the end so special for Alison's family.
A service to celebrate Alison's life will be held in the Caversham Baptist Church, South Road at 1:00pm on Thursday February 20, followed by private cremation.
