MATAIO (nee Tuariki), Mii (aka Vaineakama):

Passed away peacefully surrounded by her family at Wellington Hospital, New Zealand on 8 January 2018, aged 85 years. Born in Atai, Mitiaro, Cook Islands on 11 February 1932.

Beloved daughter of the late Tuariki Tuariki and the late Terangi Marie. Loved by her late siblings – Tekura, Mataepo, Maui, Tutai, Pokotea, Matake, Tapu, Tuapuku, Tungane, Rongo, Tuariki, Repeta and Takiata.

Loved and treasured Mum of Terangi and David, Marama and Selwyn, Apii and Ann-Marie, Tangi and Maria. Loved Nan to Jason and Carol, Jasmine and Paora, Barry and Ayla, Sharlimar and Eric, Alaina and Marty, Lynsay and Tommy, Mamaku and Awa, TK, Storm and Dakota. Loved great-nan of Annika, Taranaki, Sharnie, Treasure-Lee, Aaliyah, Apii, Cezar-Dre, Capri, Mea, Connor, Akeelah, Bella, Thelma, Roman, Rio, the late Ryder, River-J, Serenity and Kyla-Jade. Beloved Aunty and Great-Aunt to many. A treasured friend.

Our Mum will rest at 28 Whanga Crescent, Titahi Bay, Porirua where the family service will be held on Friday 12 January 2018 at 6pm with the funeral service being held at the same place on Saturday 13 January 2018 at 10:30am thereafter she will be laid to rest at Whenua Tapu Cemetery, Pukerua Bay.
