David Andross Farquhar - Companion of the New Zealand Order of Merit, Emeritus Professor Victoria University, Founder of Composers Association of NZ (CANZ) - peacefully at Mary Potter Hospice, Wellington on 8th May 2007, after a short battle with cancer. Aged 79.

Dearly loved husband of the late Raydia Farquhar.

Adored husband of Marjorie. Patriarch & Father of Julian & Kate.

Loved Grandfather of Liam, Anna & Rebecca. Father-in-law of Judit.

In lieu of flowers, donations to the Lilburn Trust of the Alexander Turnbull Library would be appreciated and may be left at the service.

A service to celebrate the life of David will be held at Old St Paul's, 34 Mulgrave St, Thorndon, Wellington on Saturday 12th May 2007 at 4pm, followed by private cremation.
