BEATTIE, James (Jim when he wasn't in trouble). Aged 82 years, on 26 January 2021, Carterton, New Zealand. Formerly of Alloa, Scotland. Much loved husband of the late Ann Beattie (nee Graham), Dad and father-in-law of Annette and Phil, Donald and Wendy. Loved Grandpa and Poppa of Joshua, Hugo and Liam. Larger than life polymath and contrarian. Friend to all dogs. Well travelled, lover of food, whisky, classical music, the great outdoors, history, reading, sailing and especially ice cream. A person that could connect with everyone, you leave a chasm in our lives. Rest in peace, you've more than earned it. A celebration of Jim’s life will be held at Knox Presbyterian Church, 574 High Street, Lower Hutt, on Friday 29th January 2021 at 11am.
