Ciurlionis, Irene Anne (Irena): On Friday, 9th April 2021. At Wellington Hospital surrounded by family, aged 63. Beloved wife of Mike. Cherished mother of Alex and step-mother of Stephen and Veronica. Much loved sister of Jill, Peter, David, Ted, Maria and John and deeply loved by all their families.

Our heartfelt thanks to all the staff at Masterton Hospital for thier care and work to allow her to return home in her final weeks, and to the staff of Wellington Hospital Oncology Ward for ensuring her passing was as peaceful and comfortable as possible.

A private, natural burial will take place at Makara Cemetery.

Irena was a primary school teacher for over 20 years, working in Wellington, Christchurch, America, Singapore and Switzerland; so we cannot hope to list the number of lives she has touched nor measure the good she has done.

She was taken from us far too soon and will be missed always.
