Kitching, Edna Mavis (nee Gapes) -

On Saturday 14 July 2007, peacefully, at Rita Angus Village, Kilbirnie, aged 95. Much loved wife and friend of the late Maurice.

Treasured mother and mother-in-law of Marie Kitching (Wellington), Brian Kitching and Ann Vartan (Masterton), Stephanie Kitching (Sister Stephanie, Wellington) and Fran Wilde and Chris Kelly (Wellington). Dear Nana of Anne-Marie Matthews (Melbourne), Libby Leach (Napier), Sue Atkinson (Napier), Peter Matthews (Levin), Richard Kitching (Melbourne), Lisa Sims (Eketahuna), Anna Kitching (Masterton), Fiona Samuel (Masterton), Celia Donaldson (Masterton), Stephen Wilde (Napier), Alexandra Wilde-Kvalheim (Oslo) and Matiu Wilde (Te Puke). Great-Nana of 24 great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, the family ask friends to donate to the Wellington Free Ambulance, PO Box 601, Wellington, or to the Mercy Rose Children's Health Fund, 15 Guildford Terrace, Wellington.

As a celebration of Edna's life there will be Requiem Mass at St Teresa's Church, 301 Karori Rd, Karori, at 1.30pm on Wednesday 18 July, followed by interment at Makara Lawn Cemetery. Edna will be welcomed back to St Teresa's at 7pm on Tuesday 17 July.
