Luxton, Murray John Finlay (John) The Honourable; QSO; CNZM:

Passed away peacefully at home on 16th November 2021, aged 75.

Dearly loved and cherished husband of Mary Scholtens, adored and much-loved precious father and father-in-law of Nicola and the late Mike, Sarah and Sam, Richard and Claire, Ed and Caroline. Treasured grandfather of Ariana, Isa, Jack, Kian, Charlie, Oliver, Tait, Charlotte and Vida. Loved brother, brother-in-law, son-in-law, uncle and friend to many.

Special thanks to the staff of the Bowen Icon Cancer Centre.

In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations to the John Luxton Charitable Trust which will support education and training for Waikato iwi, particularly in agricultural and rural endeavors, as was John’s wish. A public Memorial Service to celebrate John’s life will be held at Old St Paul’s, 34 Mulgrave Street, Pipitea, Wellington on Thursday 16th December 2021, at 1pm. Due to orange traffic light requirements, John’s service will be open to vaccinated people only and certificates must be shown upon arrival at the venue.
