BABBINGTON, Hineari Riria Te Kahumaraki. (nee Ratapu) ‘Toots’
12.8.1929 – 7.1.2022. Aged 92.
Passed peacefully at home with her daughters at her side after a long battle with matewareware (Dementia).
Dearly loved wife of the late John and loving mother of Jean, Joy, Peter (Sydney), Mathew (Brisbane), Doug (Brisbane) and Aynnie (Sydney).
Adored Nan, great grandmother, and great great grandmother to her many mokopuna.
Nurturing ‘Nanny Hineari’ to the greater Wairarapa Hâpori.
In accordance with Hineari’s wishes a service and private cremation has been held. There will be a memorial service held at a later date when whanau are able to come home from Australia. Her ashes will then be returned to Marotiri Maunga.
