On 31st August 2022 peacefully with Beth at his side. Aged 83 years.
Dearly loved husband of Beth for 54 years.
Loved father and father-in-law of Wayne and Nikki, and Victoria.
Loved ‘Grandad Doug’ of Mack, Kitty and Charlie.
A loved brother, brother-in-law, uncle and friend to many.
A special thanks to the staff at Palliser House for their care of Doug over recent years.
A service for Doug will be held in the Richmond Chapel, Richmond Road, Carterton on Monday 5th September 2022 at 2.00pm followed by private cremation.

Beth, Wayne and Nikki, Victoria and family wish to express their heartfelt thanks to all who have supported them in so many ways during their recent loss of Doug.

We would also like to specially thank the staff of Palliser House, past and present who cared for Doug over recent years; to Pam Bailey for her guidance and comforting words; to the Greytown Volunteer Fire Brigade members and “the old farts” for their fitting tribute; and to all who travelled from near and far to be with us at this time. We would also to thank Peter and Jenny Giddens and staff.
We are comforted in the knowledge that Doug has touched the lives of so many wonderful people.
