Passed away peacefully, surrounded by his loving family on 18th April 2025.

Beloved husband of Rose Mary. Darling Dad to Hannah, Rebecca, Huw and Gwilym. Devoted Pop to Kahurangi, Bryn, Emrys, Tommy, Caerwyn and Isabel; Ezra, Little Mark and Vivienne Peaches; Kari, Remy and Aila; Louis and Otis.

Mark was a microbiologist whose fascination with the natural world never waned. He was a proud Welshman who loved his life in NZ, dedicated to his family and friends, a vivacious and funny man.

Family are very grateful to the staff of Mary Potter Hospice who cared for Mark and for all of us with grace and dignity both at home and in the in-patient unit.

A celebration of Mark’s life will be held at Nga Manu Nature Reserve,74 Nga Manu Reserve Road, Waikanae on Monday 28th April at 2pm, followed by a private cremation.

Mark will be at home for visitors between 1 - 4pm on Saturday 26th and Sunday 27th.
