On 24th April 2009 peacefully at Glenwood Masonic Hospital. Aged 82 years.

Dearly loved husband of Heather and the late Thora.

Loved father and father in law of Allan and Theresa (Auckland), Wendy and Kevin Smith (Palmerston North), Carol and Stefan Hodson (Australia), Veronica Nolan and Chris (Masterton), Chris and Debbie (Masterton), Diana Ewington (Hamilton), Tony and Trudie (Masterton), Robert and Charmaine (Masterton), Brenda and Jeff Wahrlich (Australia), Nigel and Jenny (Lower Hutt), Jason and Debbie (Palmerston North), Teresa and Gregg Browne (Halcombe).

Loved stepfather of Helen and Jamie Blakeley .

Loved grandfather of all his grandchildren and great grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers a donation to the Lifeflight Trust, P.O. Box 14448, Kilbirnie, Wellington 6241 would be appreciated and may be left in the chapel foyer.

A service to celebrate Des’ life will be held in the Richmond Chapel, Richmond Road, Carterton on Wednesday 29th April 2009 at 2.00 p.m. followed by burial at the Clareville Lawn Cemetery.
