On May 17, 2009, suddenly at Dunedin Hospital, aged 81 years.

Dearly loved husband of Meg and the late Margaret, dearly loved father and father-in-law of Margaret and Neil, Christine and John, Debbie, Jill, Ralph and Ellie, Lynda and Roger, and Michael, much loved Grandad of Sam and Sarah; Luke, Annelise, and Matthew; Katie, and Nicholas; Hannah, and Olivia; Mitchell, Reece, and Aiden; Justin, Gareth, and Ryan.

A service will be held in Hope and Sons Chapel, corner Andersons Bay Road and Oxford Street, Dunedin at 2.30 p.m. on Wednesday May 20 followed by private cremation.

In lieu of flowers donations to Child Cancer Foundation would be appreciated and may be left at the service.
