JACK-HINTON, Dr. Colin, Daeng Matutu. M.A., Ph.D., Master Mariner V, F.R.S.A., M.R.I.N, Foundation (1970-1993) & Emeritus Director of the Museums & Art Galleries of the N.T., Australia.

Died in Masterton Hospital (N.Z.) on 22 March 2006, aged 73 years after a stoic 3 month battle with complications of acute atypical pneumonia, in the arms of his adoring wife, Beverley, and amidst the enduring love and regard of his family and dear friends. Loving and dearly loved father to Fergus, Margaret, Fiona and his adopted children Nani, Dewi, Daisy and Cica (South Sulawesi), grandfather to Samantha, Joseph and Ailsa, and great-grandfather to Charlotte. Colin lived richly with passion, integrity, dignity, compassion, and humour. He will be deeply missed.
His funeral service was held at the family home, “Lhanbryde”, Cornwall Rd, Masterton, on Wednesday 29 March at 2.00pm, followed by private cremation.

COLIN JACK-HINTON MARITIME GALLERY and the unveiling of a memorial in Dr. Jack-Hinton's honour to commemorate his contribution and vision as the Foundation and Emeritus Director, Museums and Art Galleries of the Northern Territory, by Ms Marion Scrymgour MLA, Minister for the Arts and Museums.

At the Maritime Gallery Undercroft, Museum and Art Gallery of the Northern Territory, Conacher Street, Fannie Bay, Darwin. Light Refreshments will be served.
