WATT, John Anthony
Peacefully on 24 September 2012, at Waikuku Beach, Canterbury aged 87 years.

Ex Fleet Air Arm.
Formerly of Otaki Beach and Island Bay, Wellington.

Husband of Colleen and loved father and father-in-law of Rebecca (Hawkes Bay), Michael (Philippines), David and Jose (Wairarapa), Jo and Murray Kane (Waikuku Beach), Timothy (Point Samson, Western Australia), Bridgette and Charlie Silcock (Wellington), Jenny and Andrew Pirie (Auckland), Diana (Wellington), Richard and Megan (Wellington). Loved brother of Cara Worthington (Canada) and the late Marie Beaty. Fondly remembered by his 20 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren.

Tipped to be the best body-surfer beyond the Pearly Gates.

In lieu of flowers, donations to the Lyall Bay Surf Life Saving Club would be appreciated and may be left at the service.

John’s life will be celebrated in a service at the Cockburn Street Chapel, cnr Onepu Road and Cockburn Street, Kilbirnie, Wellington on Monday, 1 October 2012 at 11am followed by private cremation.
