Passed away peacefully on 27th March 2013 at Wellington Hospital aged 80 years.

Dearly loved husband of Panagiota (Yota). Loved father of Maureen Gibbs and Katrina King. Loved and respected father-in-law to Malcolm. Much loved grandfather of Quenten, Angelique, Lynnaire, Nicholas, Daniel and Eva.

In lieu of flowers donations to Mary Potter Hospice PO Box 7442 Wellington South 6242 would be appreciated by Tom.

In accordance with Tom's wishes a private service was held on 3rd April 2013.

For Tom's service Angelique composed the following poem

I know you had to leave us and I know you could not stay.
You could not hang on much longer and we all knew it was going to be this way.

There is no warning sign to when the time will be, even though you went so peacefully you did not let us see.
Time is so precious and it seems to go so fast and that is why you've got to make every moment last.

I am so happy you met Nana many years ago and that you came to create the most beautiful family I know.
Though we've cried so much to see you go away I know you would not want it any other way.

You have always put others before yourself and you care so much more than anybody else.
When we saw you getting sick it really hurt I must say, seeing you deteriorate every single day.
But I bet it's nice up there and you're with your wife at last, give a kiss and a cuddle to Nana from all of us.

So this is the time to say goodbye, I have put it off for so long.
Instead of saying goodbye I am going to say so long. Goodbye is forever and that won't do, so for now Granddad I'll see you soon.
We will not ever forget you and you'll always be in our hearts.
