Born Oamaru. 1942: With much sadness, Lou, Sam and Ben advise of John's passing on Monday 20 May, 2013 after a stoic battle borne with great courage, optimism and his usual brand of humour. So very loved and treasured by his family.

Please feel free to visit John at the Guardian Funeral Home Chapel, 4 Moorefield Road , Johnsonville, on Wednesday 22 May 2013 between 1:00pm and 4:30pm.

As was his wish, a private family cremation service will take place.

A memorial gathering is to be held in Wellington in June, date and time to be advised.
